The funniest thing about this game is that the coaches of the two clubs have been bandiere of the opponent.
Red suggests that "Samp are a very hard-working team but don't seem to have much flair or ability- So a lot in common with Inter, basically" and I can agree with that, if he talks about the midfield. Truth is that in attack we have a lot of flair but we miss the concreteness of a killer like Icardi. The hope is that Eder will go on scoring like crazy. Yeah, that Eder our management almost sold to Inter (whatever Ferrero tells us now).
Unfortunately our defense remains the same of the past week with the huge liability of the absence of Silvestre, with Zukanovic who is slow and Moisander who looks little more reliable Regini... if ever. I won't even mention the option for the left flank of the defense...
Ivan or Correa in the starting lineup? Ivan had ups and downs and didn't play in Bergamo, Correa was utter garbage in Bergamo. Other options for the midfield:
The midfielder Rocca ("the next Marchisio"...) came in from the bench in Bergamo. Brave choice from Zenga. Rocca wasn't as much brave as Zenga and treated the ball like a bomb, with some funny ball controls and passes to the opponent. I doubt that fielding him in the game vs the club who developed him would be smart.
Carbonero played very little in Bergamo and didn't impress me.
Lazaros was not fully fit, otherwise he could be prefered to the previous two players in Bergamo. IMO he would be a solid option, if fit.
Probable lineup: Viviano - Pereira, Moisander, Zukanovic, Mesbah - Barreto, Fernando, Ivan (Soriano) - Soriano (Correa) - Eder, Muriel
