Milan v Fiorentina
Sunday Night
In the absolute freezing cold, we go up against the fallen giants of our time; Milan.
In their place, a new giant has arisen - or at least temporarily taken their place. Napoli's no nonsense win against Sassuolo takes them clear at the top and they don't look like coming unsettled at any time. Inter certainly are not giving them much trouble and Juvenus' primary consideration must still be the Champions League which they came so close to winning last year.
As for us, we are committed to the Serie A title. Possibly even more so than the UEFA Europa League. This is evidenced not only by our team selection for both competitions, not only by last night being called 'title chasers' by the press but also by the players who say we can win the title.
Marcos Alonso recently dismissed Napoli's favourite status, even dismissed Juventus' lack of points and plainly said “I want to win with this shirt”. A timely comment from a player who's fizzing free kick on the opening day of the season comes sharply to mind when thinking about this fixture.
There are considerable absentees tonight. Our official Best Player, Gonzalo will not be playing and neither will Badelj as they serve time on the unavailable list. In their place, up steps Rossi.
Mr Rossi. It's your turn again. Show us what you've got.
