The commentator/expert and his influence on a game of football

mercredi 14 octobre 2015

I watch a lot of football but mainly with English, Swedish or Spanish speaking commentators or experts who provide the analysis as things are happening during a game. I can't stand the commentators on World feeds that go out to everyone unless they have a domestic commentator in the country they're watching the game. They just talk a lot of rubbish and seem to have very little insight into how the teams are approaching the game and what their plan is.

The commentators of good TV-productions in Sweden can be quite the cowards when it comes to 50-50-situations. They're probably friends with players, coaches, club leaders and maybe even referees so they don't want to say something that'll ruin their relationship with these people. That's the main impression I get from watching Allsvenskan here in Sweden. Spanish commentators can be hilariously bad at times, mostly due to them being fans of a team or a player. Like for example when Argentina played Ecuador a week ago or so and Tévez was left out. One commentator goes on about how Tévez should play and bla bla bla. Then he comes on and doesn't do anything as usual when it comes to the Argentine NT and they stop talking about him..it was beIN Sports en Español btw, hilariously bad stuff..

Oh and then we have pundits like Jamie Redknapp..he's talking like he invented football. Seriously :palm:

Anyways, question is..how much does a commentator, expert, pundit or whatever you'd call it influence you, your way of thinking and your way of seeing things when you're watching a game?

Stadium sound is the way to go.
