Fiorentina v Lech

UEFA Europa Leauge

We have never faced them before in our history. Not that any of these players would have been there if had done so. Polish football appears in general to be moving along and getting stronger, though it appears that they still have some distance to make up as Lech have not yet scored since fully qualifying.

We on the other hand, after having put three points on the board are looking to reach our way up in the table to match our domestic league position. A position that is being challenged while we seemingly face all the big teams in one go - and beat them.

“We must have the ability to make sure this kind of thing is customary every year. We’re trying to create good habits, to give consistency to what we’re doing" said Sousa at a recent press conference.

Sousa didn't have time for yesterday's Champions League matches because he was too busy preparing for this one. “I didn’t see the Giallorossi’s Champions League game [a 4-4 draw with Bayer Leverkusen], because I want to concentrate on my game".

The big upcoming match we have is against Roma but Sousa said “I always work in advance, but we’ll only concentrate on Roma after the match with Lech".

When asked about risks and what is at stake for the Fiorentina team, Sousa replied “I think the biggest risk is application and individual attitude. To win a game these days it’s not enough to be stronger, it’s the fundamental attitude.”

Hopefully then, we'll see the attitude reflected on the pitch.
