Remember that guy on XT who literally asked everything about everything? Assim? Yeah Quora would probably be his wet dream :D

Erm...ok...erotic fantasies aside, here's a social media(?) platform with some very useful contents where people ask a question, and the most informative answer gets upvoted.

Sounds like Reddit, except minus all the clutter and threading and childishness/trolling/LOL-ing/one-liner material that you see there.

Usually the best answer gets upvoted and almost permanently pinned up.

Random topic:

How far could someone go if they could live without sex, drugs, smoking and alcohol?

These are the things that control most people's lives, along with money, finding a partner and the pursuit of happiness. But what if a person could live without alcohol, sex, smoking and drugs? What if they wanted a simple, more honest life without these distractions. How far could that person go?

Not as far as Keith Richards, or Mick Jagger; maybe as far as Jesus, or the Dalai Lama.

Gotta have something to motivate you.

Pick your motivation. Not everyone thinks "sex" is a distraction. For some of us, it's far closer to the point of the whole game.

There's a Russian anecdote I like to share when I come across these questions. It goes something like this...

A man was being interviewed by the local news early in the morning at his home. He had just turned 100 with perfect health.

"What is your secret?" Asked the reporter. "How have you lived so long with such good health?"

"Well, for one, I never drank or smoked or did any drugs. I exercise daily and always get plenty of sleep. I eat healthy and drink plenty of water and t-"

Suddenly, loud crashes and voices come from upstairs. The reporter can no longer hear the man speak.

"What is making all that noise?" Asked the reporter.

"Oh, don't mind that. It's just my older brother, back from a night of drinking and whoring."

"How far" is a kind of nonsense, as the end of the race is exactly the same for all of us.
My grand father used and abused from almost all of the above activities and died at 93 from the indirect consequences of a car crash.
Milions of monks, sisters, priests from various religions decided to follow those ways, to clean karma, to expand presence for their God or for other human beings.
As Mark quoted, sex shouldn't be compared with cigarets, no?
The goal of life is to live and experience love. We integer a bottom less void to fill with this pleasant bliss. Substances, activities and things may be nice substitutes, for a while, Sadly, slowly they push us to forget how tastful love remains at the end.
